3rd Regional African Feminist Forum

The 3rd Regional African Feminist Forum will take place from 21st – 24th October 2008, in Dakar, Senegal and will bring together between 150-180 participants from the continent as a follow up to the hugely successful AFF that took place in November 2006 in Ghana and September 2008 in Uganda . The purpose of the forum will be to assess progress made on the commitments made at the previous African Feminist Forums. It will be an opportunity to learn from the mobilisation efforts at national and local levels and to develop best practice methodologies on the application of the Charter of Feminist Principles for African Feminists, as a tool for awareness raising, education and learning, mobilisation as well as peer review and assessment. The AFF 2010 will be in partial fulfilment of the commitment made to hold a standing biennial feminist forum. This is a key strategy for building a strong and autonomous movement on the continent, by providing a space for reflection, learning and exchange, debate and agenda setting.

‘Participation to the AFF is by NOMINATION ONLY. Please contact the AFF Secretariat via aff@awdf.org to register an expression of interest’.
